Programs

Missoula Childrens Theatre

Each year we bring Missoula Childrens Theatre to Tehama. The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for nearly 50 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,100 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors

Poetry Out Loud

Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life. Poetry Out Loud is a partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation, and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies.

Since 2005, Poetry Out Loud has grown to reach more than 4.1 million students and 68,000 teachers from 17,000 schools and organizations in every state, American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Community Small Grants

Tehama County residents are invited to apply for a one-time grant not exceeding $500 to promote and expand the arts in our community. Organizations and individuals are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to projects that impact the most significant number of community residents.

TCAC will announce when applications for grant funds are available. The California Arts Council provided the funds, with matching funds by TCAC.

“Arts” as used in this application include but are not limited to visual, performing, and writing. Grants requested to benefit one’s personal property, or income will not be considered.
