Community Arts Grant

Opportunities

 

 Tehama County resident are invited to apply for a one-time grant, not to exceed $500, for the opportunity of enriching their community through the arts.  The Grant Funds are provided by the California Arts Council with matching funds from the Tehama County Arts Council, who are dedicated to promoting and expanding the arts.

 

Organizations and individuals are encouraged to apply.  Preference will be given to projects that impact the greatest number of community residents. The grant applications are due by July 15, 2024, and must be postmarked by that date.

 

"Arts" as used in this application include, but are not limited to, visual, performing and written.  Grants requested to benefit schools, religious groups or to benefit one's personal property or income will not be considered.

 

In 2023, the Tehama County Arts Council awarded Small Community Grants of $500 to each of the following groups and individuals for art related projects.

 

 Ballet Folklorico, Minerva Martinez, Corning: Provide pre-kindergarten through 12th grade summer camp with Ballet Folklorico to develop an appreciation of the Latino form of folkloric dance, with cross-culture participation to share the knowledge with the community. Transportation funding to perform in other counties.

 

Brandon Sebastian, Cottonwood: For art supplies to teach free paint night party classes offered to community students.

 

 Tehama Creatives, Heather Vine, Red Bluff: Kits to teach introduction to printmaking to children and how to make their own printing press. Share their art in Pop-up art exhibits in the community.

 

Quilt Culture, Natalie Caldwell, Red Bluff: Material to make aprons for the Aprons for Autism project for children and adults, for use when they are engaged in sensory activities.

 

Application forms are available online to print at www.tehamaarts.org, or can be picked up and returned to Tehama Arts, 328 Oak St. Red Bluff.  The mailing address is TCAC, P.O.
