Award-winning Artist Steve Ferchaud is well-known for his whimsical fantasy world of gnomes, frogs and other creatures and characters. He has inspired and entertained his many followers with his watercolor & pen and ink illustrations, poetry, writings and his gift of storytelling with passion, insight and personable wit.
Ferchaud had his beginnings in Red Bluff, where his journey began with drawing in the margins of his schoolwork that led to a career of published and award-winning illustrations. He has as created illustrations for many commercial projects, including magazines and newspapers, book and magazine covers and artwork for various labels and T-shirts.
Steve's whimsical art has illustrated over 40 books including the Benjamin Franklin award-winning book "The Carpenters Legacy." He also received a Golden Quill Award for the best illustrations for "The Man Who Spoke to Cats" and a CPA Award for best illustrations for" Josh and Bigfoot."
A survivor of the Paradise Camp Fire, one of Ferchaud's books with his illustrations, "My Name is Haley And I Live in Paradise," is based on his and other's first hand experiences of having lived in Paradise before and after the fire and through the devastation and loss of their town, homes and all possessions.
Ferchaud and his art have been a part of the Annual Red Bluff Downtown ArtWalk for many years, where he has sketched caricatures of those visiting his exhibit.
